SHETLAND-based Lerwick Brewery has joined forces with Scottish Premier League side St Mirren Football Club to produce two club-branded beers.

Derived from the Paisley club’s nickname, ‘The Buddies’, Buddie Lager and Buddie Beer are to be sold at St Mirren’s stadium bar as well as in a 12-box pack or mixed case from Paisley distribution firm The Real Ale Warehouse.
As part of the agreement, St Mirren will receive 20p from each bottle of Buddie branded beer sold.
The deal follows the announcement that Lerwick Brewery has secured two distribution deals, with Hughson Brothers and JW Gray & Co, which will make the brewery’s 60° North and Skipper’s Ticket beers available to the whole of Shetland for the first time. Outside of Shetland, the brewery’s beers are available from Williamson Foodservice.
Rhanna Turberville, brewery manager at the Lerwick Brewery, said the firm has received “a great deal of interest” in its products.
