Admiral snaps up ten Scottish sites from Star

TEN leased pubs in Scotland are among 150 UK sites Admiral Taverns is to buy from Heineken-owned Star Pubs & Bars.

The deal will see Chester-based Admiral Taverns take control of the Balaclava Bar in Aberdeen; Dundee sites the Albert Bar and Stobswell Bar; the Horseshoe Tavern in Musselburgh; the Mallard in Perthshire; the Kirkhill Bar in Cambuslang, Glasgow; The Pollock Inn, in Lanarkshire; and three pubs in Fife – the Balgonie Arms, the Valley Bar and Charley’s.

Admiral Taverns’ UK pub portfolio will rise to around 950 upon completion.

The firm’s Chris Jowsey said the deal represents “another important step forward in our strategy and ambitions for the business”.
