Sugar cut for the new Bru

SCOTLAND’S other national drink will be a little different this summer as AG Barr has announced it will be reducing the sugar in Irn-Bru.

The firm has committed to making over 90% of its soft drinks portfolio lower or no-sugar by autumn of this year.
Roger White, chief executive at AG Barr, said that evidence shows “most consumers want to reduce their sugar intake while still enjoying great tasting drinks”.
“We have responded and our announcement lets [consumers] know how we’re delivering what they want,” said White.
“Irn-Bru will remain a sugary drink. We’ve achieved a really good match, with less sugar, that tastes great.”
AG Barr currently offers two no-sugar Irn-Bru variants, Irn-Bru Sugar Free and Irn-Bru Xtra.
