THE DRG (Di Maggio’s Restaurant Group) is to welcome aboard a raft of trainees under its Modern Apprenticeship scheme.
The group, which owns 18 outlets across Scotland, has an initial 35 employees undertaking a hospitality apprenticeship; the programme will be extended in time to include both existing staff and new recruits.
The apprenticeship plans were announced last week when Scottish Government employability minister Jamie Hepburn visited the group’s Anchor Line bar and restaurant in Glasgow as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week.
Kathryn Knox, recruitment and training manager at The DRG, said the group has “developed expertise within the business” to deliver the apprenticeships in-house, describing the new apprenticeships as “the perfect way to develop and accredit the skills of [our] talented and dedicated staff”.
