The venue, 28 Queen Street, includes a whisky bar, dining room and event space.

The organisation’s other venues, in Leith and London, will remain open to members only.

The move comes two months after the society was sold by The Glenmorangie Company to a group of private investors.

The 28 Queen Street venue marked its new ‘open to all’ policy with a whisky and ice cream film festival.

Launching last Friday (June 19) and running until Saturday July 11, the 12 Tub Cinema Club will pair whisky-flavoured ice creams with whisky-themed films such as The Angels’ Share and Whisky Galore.
