Buyer sought for established restaurant with rooms

OPERATORS looking to acquire an established hospitality business might be interested in a restaurant with rooms in South Lanarkshire.

Risson’s at Springvale, in Strathaven, comprises a 30-cover restaurant, ten-cover conservatory dining area, small bar and a guest lounge with wood-burning stove.

There are also ten en suite letting bedrooms.

The business, which overlooks Strathaven Green, is said to have previously secured an AA Rosette for its food and two gold AA stars for its accommodation.

The sale also includes owner’s accommodation and landscaped gardens.

Property agent Smith & Clough is seeking offers over £325,000 for the freehold interest.

“I am delighted to be handling the sale of Risson’s at Springvale and feel the sale represents a great opportunity for new owners to take on a well-established and reputable business which still offers further growth potential,” said Jonathan Clough, director of Smith & Clough, who is handling the sale.

“The restaurant currently only trades Wednesday to Saturday for dinner only and for Sunday lunch from 1pm to 7pm, closing on Mondays and Tuesdays; it also closes for three weeks of the year.

“Therefore it is felt there is undoubted potential to extend the restaurant opening hours, and given that the business is currently mainly restaurant driven, new owners could increase turnover further with greater marketing of the accommodation.”
