Farm earmarked for distillery

A NEW whisky distillery could be built at a derelict farm building in Inverclyde.
Garvocks Farm Steading beside Loch Thom is being marketed by Inverclyde Council for development as a new micro distillery and visitor centre.
Talks have already taken place with the Scotch Whisky Association to gauge interest within the whisky industry.
Councillor Michael McCormick, environment and regeneration convener at Inverclyde Council, said: “Having a new micro distillery and visitor centre as part of that package can only add to the growing reputation Inverclyde has for welcoming visitors including over 90,000 cruise ship passengers from all over the world.”
It is estimated ten full-time jobs could be created by a new distillery on the site.
