Trade set for independence debate

A PANEL of experts will go head to head in Glasgow next month to debate the pros and cons of Scottish independence.

In an event organised by the Institute of Hospitality (IOH), the Scottish Licensed Trade Association and the Scottish Tourism Alliance, a group that includes politicians and representatives from the hospitality industry will discuss the impact they think independence could have on their sectors.
Members of the audience will also have the opportunity to put their questions to the panellists, who include Fergus Ewing MSP, David Mundell MP, De Vere Hotels chief executive Robert Cook and Rebecca Brooks, managing director of Abbey Tours Scotland.
Ray Lorimer, chairman of IOH Scotland, said the event, which takes place at Glasgow Caledonian University on May 20, “promises to be a stirring discussion”.
