LUXURY Ayrshire resort Turnberry has appointed Munur Kara as its new executive chef.

The move marks a return to the resort for Kara, who previously worked as a senior sous chef at the hotel for a period of five years from 2004, before taking the head chef position at The Royal Horseguards hotel in London. He rejoins Turnberry from The Dorchester in London, where he was head chef of the hotel’s Promenade Restaurant.
In his new role he will oversee the development of Turnberry’s restaurants and bars.
John Tarrida, general manager of Turnberry, said Kara will be “a great asset to our senior team at Turnberry and we are looking forward to seeing him develop his own vision for our six restaurants and bars”.
