Marston’s marches on Motherwell

BREWER and pubco Marston’s is set to continue its Scottish expansion with a new £3 million pub restaurant development at Ravenscraig, near Motherwell.

The group has secured planning consent and a premises licence from North Lanarkshire Council and the licensing board.
Construction work on the project is scheduled to begin in mid-2014, with the pub expected to open for business in early 2015. The new venue, which is to be named The Raven’s Cliff, forms part of a regeneration project in the area.
Marston’s acquisition manager Adrian Blackburn said the site is part of an “ongoing strategy to build and open upwards of 25 new family pub restaurants across the UK every year, and a growing proportion of these will be in Scotland”.
Marston’s opened its first Scottish premises, The Pine Marten in Dunbar (pictured below), earlier this year.
