Keep bunker in your sights

The Guard House is said to be ripe for development.

A FORMER Cold War military bunker in Aberdeenshire which is said to be ripe for conversion is up for sale.

Built in the 1950s, the Guard House at Berview Bow, Inverbervie, was acquired by the US Navy in the late 1960s and run in conjunction with the monitoring station at RAF Edzell.
The station closed 20 years ago and has been used for residential purposes ever since.
Selling agent Shepherd said the property offers 10,000 sq ft of underground accommodation and could be developed for a number of uses, including as an outdoor activity centre.
“The detached building connects to a substantial underground bunker to the rear of the main building which leads to a long concrete lined corridor with 10ft thick walls and metal sliding doors offering an unusual level of security,” said associate Mark McQueen.
