GK revamps lease deals

BELHAVEN owner Greene King will next month launch a new range of lease and tenancy deals in a bid to ensure it attracts and retains the best talent to run its leasehold pubs.

The deals include a new lease agreement and three tenancy options, with each pitched at different applicant profiles. GK said the aim is to boost lessee retention, ensure talented but underfunded people can enter the business, and align the objectives of both landlord and leaseholder.
Each will be available to prospective and existing Belhaven tenants and leaseholders, subject to local property and licensing laws.
The agreements have been Crystal Marked by the Plain English Society to ensure all parties are clear about what’s involved.
Simon Longbottom, MD at GK Pub Partners, told SLTN the new deals simplify the lease paperwork, outline how both parties can benefit and increase the “gene pool of folk whose dream it is to own a pub by providing agreements that make that achievable.”
