Brewer sticks to promise

TENNENT’S made good on its pledge to put its 2012 prices up by less than inflation on Monday when it confirmed the cost of a barrel would go up by 2.2% on March 5.

The rise, equal to £9.98 on a barrel or 3.4p on a pint of Tennent’s, compares to the average of 7p put on by its main rivals in January.
The firm said it would be its only rise of 2012.
